Environmental Monitoring
Solar-Floating ESP32 Water Quality Monitoring Prototype
- Challenge
- An environmental monitoring client needed a floating, autonomous device to track water quality at a remote site where wired connectivity and frequent site visits were not feasible. The unit had to capture multiple water parameters and reliably relay them to a cloud database on a fixed schedule without an on-site operator.
- Approach
- We built the prototype around an ESP32 paired with pH, temperature, and turbidity sensors, with a custom PCB layout to integrate the sensing front-end and power management for a floating enclosure. A GSM/GPRS module provided cellular backhaul so the device could operate fully off-grid. The firmware sampled the sensor suite and pushed readings to a cloud database on a recurring interval, balancing duty-cycling against power constraints for unattended operation.
- Outcome
- The client received a working remote water-quality prototype and left a 5-star review describing GizanTech as a great company to work with.
